M is for the Many Things……
I remember singing this song in grade school every year at Mother’s Day. If you were one of the lucky ones in the Chorus, you got to hold a poster board with one of the letters that spell out MOTHER. I really wanted to hold the M. Honesty, I have no recollection if that ever happened or not.
I do, however, remember looking out into the crowd and watching my Mom sitting out there looking proud. I remember her smile and the way her body bounced to the music I remember the way my heart swelled with pride and joy at being her daughter.
If I had to write that song for today, I would write to all four of my mothers and it may go something like this:
M is for the many ways you have each poured into my life. Never once have I felt unloved.
O is for the other Mothers in my life. Thanks for never making me feel like I did not measure up or matter to you.
T is for the thousands of times you have been there for my family and me. For never being too tired or too busy to lend a helping hand.
H is for the heart that is within each of you that serves and worships the one and only God of our salvation.
E is for eternity, the amount of time I wish I had here on earth with each of you. May I never waste a minute of these days hoping for anything other than your precious time in my life.
R is for rest. May we all rest in the arms of our Lord as we thank Him for this gift of Motherhood.

Happy Mother’s Day!
