A Harvest of Generosity – 10 Bible Verses about Harvest

Wanting instant results, wishing the changes would be recognizable now, feeling like the effort is greater than the results; these are the thoughts swirling around my mind as I am dieting.

Today, I am focusing on Bible verses about the harvest. Learning such things as being patient with the timing of things. Developing an attitude of hope as I trust God will not waste my efforts.

Looking at the process of a harvest from the start encourages me to stay the course. Knowing that planting seeds and waiting on God to bring the rain and sun is part of the process, calms my impatience. Today we are going to look at ten verses about planting, harvest and the generosity of our Lord. (Free Printable at the end of the post)

For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. 2 Corinthians 9:10

You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as warriors rejoice when dividing the plunder. Isaiah 9:3

“You shall work six days, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during plowing time and harvest you shall rest. Psalm 126:5-6

They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest;  he blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and he did not let their herds diminish. Psalm 107:37-38

“When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain from your field, don’t go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigners, orphans, and widows. Then the LORD your God will bless you in all you do. Deuteronomy 24:19

The LORD has sworn by His right hand and by His strong arm, “I will never again give your grain as food for your enemies; Nor will foreigners drink your new wine for which you have labored.” But those who garner it will eat it and praise the LORD; And those who gather it will drink it in the courts of My sanctuary. Isaiah 62:8-9

Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. James 5:7
