How To Make An Easy Gratitude Journal

Have you hesitated to start a Gratitude Journal? Maybe, like me, you don’t want to add another To Do to your day? Perhaps the fear of failure keeps you from trying?

Today I am going to share with you how to make an easy mini-album to use as a gratitude journal. This album has only ten small pages, so you can use each page for one specific thing you are grateful for or you can squeeze in as many as you want! I am planning on committing to one per page, so ten total entries. See the end of this post for pictures of the ones I made.

YouTube Video to Make Mini-Albums:

Amber at Lyric Lover Crafts created an excellent tutorial on making the mini journal. I then added my little twist to be able to use it as a gratitude journal. Make sure to subscribe to her channel HERE so you don’t miss the other great stuff Amber does.

Here is the list of supplies I used:

  • One 12×12 sheet of double-sided scrapbook paper
  • White paper
  • Twine (Approximately 18 inches)
  • Stickers to decorate with (Optional)
  • Scissors or paper cutter
  • Glue stick or double-sided tape
  • Hole punch

How to use this mini-album as a gratitude journal:

  • Watch the above video and make the mini-album as Amber shows you.
  • Unless you used plain scrapbook paper to create your mini-journal, your pages are full of pretty patterns. So, you will need to create a place to write to use this as a gratitude journal. I cut and glued a plain piece of white paper 3 1/2″ X 5″ to the center of each page.

To help you get started here are 10 Gratitude Journaling Prompts:

  1. What is a simple pleasure you are grateful for?
  2. What is something you bought recently that you are grateful for?
  3. Looking out your window, what do you see that you are grateful for?
  4. What did you accomplish today?
  5. What skill do you have that you can be grateful for?
  6. A favorite hobby or activity that brings you joy.
  7. A memory with a friend or family member.
  8. Your favorite book.
  9. Look through the pictures on your phone and note your favorite recent memory.
  10. The most significant accomplishment in your personal life.

TADA!

Here are a few of the ones I have made so far! Now to choose one and journal what I am grateful for.
