Fervent Chapter 3 – Your Identity

If I were your enemy…..I’d work hard to ensure that you never realize what God has given you so you’ll doubt the power of God within you. (Fervent)

For years I have regretted not following my dream to become a Psychologist. I knew in High School I wanted to go into psychology, but I did not think I was smart enough or good enough to follow my heart.  I didn’t trust my heart. Instead, I put my trust in other people opinions of me.  I certainly did not put my faith in God, or I would not have chosen the path I did.

Satan wants us all to suffer from mistaken identity.  Not just in our careers, but in everything.  He will do anything to keep the true you from coming out and to keep you guessing “what in the world am I here to accomplish!?”

We know prayer, fervent prayer is what will reveal to us the lies we believe and the truths that set us free.  It is in prayer our true identity in Christ is freed to live a meaningful, purposeful life.  A life of peace and filled with overflowing joy.

We know the Bible holds chapter after chapter of truth and freedom.  It is a powerful and living work of God when ingested will cure whatever is ailing you. It is in the word of God you will find your packing list of weapons that have always been your to use, there will never be a time when you don’t have access to what you need and more!

Call to Prayer:  In our call to prayer this week, I have chosen the following verse.  It helps me to be able to fight one of the biggest lies I deal with.  The lie of not being enough, of not being worthy of His greatness and power, of being ugly and hopeless. So, I am choosing this verse to meditate on and allow God’s breath to breath into me a new image of who I am in Christ.

“I also clothed you with embroidered cloth and put sandals of porpoise skin on your feet: and I wrapped you with fine linen and covered you with silk.  I adorned you with ornaments, put bracelets on your hands and a necklace around your neck.  I also put a ring in your nostril, earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown on your head…So you were exceedingly beautiful and advanced to royalty.  Ezek. 16:10-13
