20 SCRIPTURES TO PRAY TO STOP HUMAN TRAFFICKING

National Human Trafficking Awareness Day is observed every year on January 11.

This observances was started in 2011 by Presidential Proclamation of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.

In 2011 President Barack Obama issued a Presidential Proclamation, designating each January to be National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. The anniversary of this proclamation became known as National Human Trafficking Awareness Day.

Slavery was officially abolished in the USA by the Thirteenth Amendment in December 1865 however sadly human trafficking is growing at an alarming rate and despite the USA being a first world country, human trafficking has become a lucrative business for some members of our society.

Today I want to share with you 20 Scriptures that we can pray for the cause of stopping all human trafficking. You will find a free printable at the bottom of the post. I encourage you to print this off, share it, and use it as a prayer guide.

20 SCRIPTURES ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” Psalm 82:4

Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:8-9

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; Isaiah 61:1

I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them in justice. Ezekiel 34:16

All my bones shall say, “O Lord, who is like you, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, the poor and needy from him who robs him?” Psalm 35:10

For I the Lord love justice; I hate robbery and wrong; I will faithfully give them their recompense, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. Isaiah 61:8

 “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh? Isaiah 58:6-7

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-7

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.  God sets the lonely in families… Psalm 68:5-6a

He executes justice for the orphan and the widow, and shows His love for the alien by giving him food and clothing. Deuteronomy 10:18

The Lord protects the strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow, but He thwarts the way of the wicked. Psalm 146:9

Learn to do good; seek justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the orphans, plead for the widow. Isaiah 1:17

For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” Romans 8:15

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.  In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will… Ephesians 1:4-5

Do not move the ancient boundary or go into the fields of the fatherless, for their Redeemer is strong; He will plead their case against you. Proverbs 23:10-11

Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Psalm 82:3

 “Cursed is he who distorts the justice due an alien, orphan, and widow.” And all the people shall say, “Amen.” Deuteronomy 27:19

And do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another. Zechariah 7:10

The King will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
